FORT WORTH (CBS11) - A father and son from Ponder are recovering from severe injuries at two separate hospitals in Fort Worth after a bizarre crash involving a bull.
33-year old Christopher Lloyd and his 6-year old son also named Chris were riding in their street legal dune buggy on Wednesday night when they hit a bull on near Knight Road and Plover Street in Ponder.
The impact was so severe the father and son suffered extensive injuries including head trauma and broken spines. Both were airlifted to hospitals in Fort Worth.
The father was taken to Harris Methodist. His son went to Cook Children's Hospital.
On Friday the 6-year old showed encouraging signs as he stood up and took some pictures still in a head and body brace.
According to the family his father is still sedated and isn't able to communicate fully with loved one.
The family says the bull which also died as a result of the wreck had cut loose from a neighboring pasture and despite calls to have it wrangled, it wasn't.
The family is now asking for prayers and donations through a gofundme page as the father and son continue to recover.
