Evening Rain gone, A Little More Tomorrow
We had a few storms fire up west of the Metroplex in Saturday afternoon, they died down an hour into sundown. Some good rains reported around Weatherford and Mansfield. Our Weather Watcher Nathan Obregon near Spinks Airport reported over 1" of rain:
I expect some more rain to develop overnight and Sunday morning down across our southern counties. By afternoon the same general area will have a few pop-up storms:
For most of us it'll just be some morning clouds giving way to some afternoon sun. Hot and a little muggy for the last Sunday of (meteorological) summer:
What was once Tropical Storm Erika is now a heavy rain storm over Cuba. It's going to move along the west coast of Florida at the start of the work week. There is slight chance it could form into a tropical depression but for the most part it'll just be a heavy rain maker for the Sunshine state.
Right now there is an upper-level low right over New Orleans. It'll quickly move over the deep south tomorrow. A deep trough in the upper levels of the atmosphere is slowly moving over Texas and into Louisiana for the next five days. A upper-level low will form over the Gulf by Wednesday and Thursday. This is going to bring steady rain chances along the Texas coast. Some of this afternoon rain should reach into our southeast counties during the week ahead:
For the most part we are going to start September and go into Labor Day Weekend with some hot and dry weather:
