Even Warmer Weather On The Way!!!

EVEN WARMER WEATHER ON THE WAY!!!

Spring like weather is feeling like the norm this January.  And above average temperatures will continue thru most of this week.  This afternoon with sunny skies and breezy south wind temperatures warmed into the mid to upper 60s.  It gets even warmer tomorrow.

JANUARY WARMTH…

Meteorologist Jeff Jamison looked up some January facts.  This January is now the 16th warmest on record with an average temperature of 49.7 degrees.  This is the average of the lows and highs for each day over the month.  The warmest January on record was in 1923 when that January had an average temperature of 55.5 degrees.

This January has also only seen 7 days where the temperature got below freezing.  In an average January we would see 14 days with temperatures dipping below freezing.

This January also only saw officially 4 cloudy days.  In an average January we would see 16 cloudy days.
By looking at these facts it would lead someone to believe that this was a dry January too.  As we know that is pretty far from the truth.  So far this January we have seen 6.18" of rain.  This makes this January the 2nd wettest on record behind 1932 which saw 9.07" of rain.  All of the 6.18" rainfall we saw this month came from two storm events.  The rest of the month was completely dry.
