DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Frightening moments for drivers on westbound Interstate-30 in Dallas after someone began throwing large rocks off the I-45 overpass, down onto the highway.

At least five vehicles were hit and damaged by the rocks that were about the size of softballs, but no one was injured.

Victims and other drivers who witnesses the incidents called 911 and police were able to get to the scene quickly.

Cynthia Hubbard's vehicle wasn't damaged, but she was able to snap a photo of the man throwing the rocks. "We were driving under the interstate and someone was throwing rocks. I seen two cars get hit," she said.

Once officers arrived at the scene, bystanders identified the "person of interest" and helped officers take the man into custody. They found him near Haskell Avenue and 2nd Avenue and took him to DPD headquarters to be interviewed.

No word yet if that "person of interest" has been charged. Police say the incident is under investigation.
