Denton Police Looking For Check Cashing Store Robbers

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Denton police are on the lookout for three men considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities say the suspects waited outside of the apartment of two Ace Cash Express employees. When the employees came outside they were forced inside their personal vehicle at gunpoint.

The suspects made the employees drive to the Ace Cash Express on University, near Route 77. Once there the suspects demanded money.

"They led them into the place of, into the business, and said 'you will open the registers and the safe and give us the money,' which they did," explained Denton police spokesman Ryan Grelle.

Authorities say there is every indication the armed robbery was planned.

"It's highly possible that they were staking them out, following their moves. Is it possible that they knew them? Yes," said Grelle. "But in looking at it and the detectives talking to them they do not, I'm gonna repeat, they do not think it was an inside job."

Before running from the scene the suspects left behind a grenade. The device was later determined to be a fake.

The suspects were last seen in a silver-colored Nissan Altima.
