Deliberations Enter 2nd Day In Ex-Cowboy's Crash Trial

DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – Deliberations are once again underway in the intoxication manslaughter trial for former Dallas Cowboy Josh Brent.

Prosecutors argued Brent was driving drunk and speeding when he flipped his car, killing passenger and teammate Jerry Brown, Junior.

Closing arguments wrapped up Tuesday morning, but CBS 11 has learned after the jury got the case, they spent much of the day making arrangements with their families so they could stay overnight at a hotel.  Wednesday morning at nine, jurors reconvened and began going over the evidence from the case.  The jury will be sequestered until they reach a verdict.

Already this morning, the jury has already asked to see the surveillance video from Club Privae, which shows Josh Brent and Jerry Brown.  The jury now has a laptop computer to view that on.

Around 11:30 a.m., the judge said there was no verdict, but informed the media that the jury had asked about lunch.

Meanwhile, Brent and his family members are in the court building waiting for the verdict.

CBS 11's has team coverage from the courthouse.  Follow Jennifer Lindgren and Stephanie Lucero on Twitter for updates on the deliberations and verdict.
