DART Displays Potential Electric-Powered Bus Model

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is looking to electrify its fleet with new electric-powered buses.

One of the potential models was on display Tuesday afternoon in front of DART headquarters.

DART is currently applying for a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) low-emission grant that would partially fund the purchase of nine electric buses.

The Proterra EcoRide electric buses would be the second zero-emission vehicles in the DART fleet. DART's electric light rail vehicles are the first and largest zero-emission transit fleet in the state.
