DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Firefighters battled an apartment fire at Carolina Chase Apartment complex on 5351 Peterson Ln.

According to authorities the fire started in the dryer of a laundry room.

The fire then moved up into some of the units and on into the attic.

No one was hurt and investigators believe the fire to be an unfortunate accident on Thanksgiving.

Firefighters said four units suffered smoke and fire damage and are declared uninhabitable.

Residents occupied all four units. The fire caused 12 more units to be without power.

The Red Cross assisted displaced residents.
