FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A crash involving two big rigs Monday morning caused one of the vehicles to erupt into flames and shut down westbound Interstate-20 at Wichita Street in Fort Worth. The incident occurred at around 3:45 a.m. on a highway overpass.

Details about the crash itself are still under investigation. When they arrived at the scene, first responders reported seeing fire shooting out of one of the trucks. Photographs from after the incident show the side of a big rig trailer blackened by the blaze.

Fuel was also spilled during the collision, and started leaking onto the roadway below. Crews worked to clean the mess in this area.

MedStar said that two individuals were hurt during the fiery crash. One person was transported to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth with minor injuries. The other patient was treated at the scene and released.

The big rig collision also led to two other smaller crashes. A third big rig tagged an outside wall while trying to avoid slamming into the other trucks. Two cars were also involved in a crash while attempting to avoid the larger crash scene. Officials did not report any injuries from these incidents.

The interstate has since opened back up to traffic.
