Cooler with Rain Chances

The heat wave that started on August 1st is going to take a break after a dozen days in the 100+ range. After yesterday's 107° (the hottest day in four years) storms rushed in a dropped the temperature down at the airport to 82° by four hours later. Ahead? Cooler days and rain chances:

The culprit in all this is a slow moving low pressure system that has plagued southern Louisiana over the last 36 hours. Areas have received 10"-15" of rain already with another 6"-10" anticipated over the next two days. The bulk of this system keeps east of us but it's close enough to keep rain chances in our forecast all week:

As we were approaching this event the concern for localized flooding was higher. It hasn't disappeared but will be confined to our southeastern counties centered on Navarro, Anderson and Freestone:
