HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Authorities say a twice-convicted sex offender on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list has been captured in Houston.
The Texas Department of Public Safety on Thursday announced the arrest of 58-year-old Jerry Wayne Adaway of Houston.
Investigators say Adaway, who was actually captured on Tuesday, was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. He had been on the run since April 2015.
It was in 1982 when he was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl in Harris County. Then in 2007, Adaway was convicted of Sexual Assault of a Child in a case involving another 16-year-old girl, but this time in Travis County.
In addition to his history of sexual offenses, Adaway has also faced drug, robbery, and fraud charges.
