Cold & Wet Wednesday, Severe Weather Possible Thursday - Here's the timeline!
COLD & WET WEDNESDAY
After a cool, but pleasant Tuesday, changes happen overnight. Clouds increase and rain develops after midnight. During the morning on Wednesday, showers and isolated thunderstorms will be with us. North of the DFW area some sleet may mix with the rain. Surface temperatures will stay above freezing so no slick spots expected but don't be surprised to see some sleet especially in some of the heavier downpours of rain. We will see showers off and on thru the day on Wednesday. Not only will it be wet, but it will be cold and windy too! Temperatures will stay in the 40s all day Wednesday with gusty east winds up to 30 mph. There could be a few thunderstorms on Wednesday, but mainly it will be off and on rain.
SEVERE WEATHER THREAT THURSDAY MORNING
A line of thunderstorms will develop west of DFW shortly after midnight Wednesday night into Thursday morning. This line will move east and pass thru the DFW area sometime between 3am and 9am. Severe weather will be possible with damaging winds and large hail possible. Once this line of storms moves east we will have dry weather for the rest of Thursday with temperatures rebounding into the 60s.

SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER - area in yellow is the area to watch for the potential for severe weather early Thursday morning.
WEATHER TIMELINE OF RAIN AND STORMS
WEDNESDAY 7AM - Cold and rainy. Sleet may mix in with the rain for areas north of Dallas/Fort Worth.
WEDNESDAY 2PM - Chilly rain with temperatures holding in the 40s.
WEDNESDAY 8PM - A break in the coverage of the rain, but still some spotty showers.
THURSDAY 2AM - Line of storms develops west of DFW along a cold front.
THURSDAY 6AM - This high resolution forecast model has the line moving into DFW during this time. These storms could be severe with damaging winds and hail.
THURSDAY 9AM - Line of storms moves east and we dry out in DFW.
