Cold Front Nears DFW

As of 3pm the cold front is still to the northwest of DFW but it is making steady progress toward the metroplex.  It will be moving thru Dallas and Fort Worth between 5pm and 8pm.  You'll know it when it arrives because temperatures will quickly drop into the 50s and 60s with strong winds out of the northwest.  There could be a few showers and thunderstorms that develop along the front, but if you do see rain it won't last very long.

Now here are the wind gusts behind the front.  Note some winds gusting to 40 mph in Abilen.  We will see gusts upto 40 mph in parts of North Texas this evening.  That is why we are under a Wind Advisory until 10pm.
