HOOD COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) -- The Hood County toddler found dead underneath a Lake Granbury boat dock had wandered away from his babysitter according to the Hood County Sheriff.
Sheriff Roger Deeds says 18-year-old Brianna Delbridge was babysitting a three-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl Friday morning at home on the 3600 block of Sandy Beach Drive.
Deeds says a passerby who knew the little girl found her home just before 10:00 a.m.
"They went over there taking the child home and found that the three-year-old boy was not there either," Sheriff Deeds says.
Police, fire and EMS immediately started searching for the boy, and he was found unconscious in the water by the boat dock just before 11:00 a.m.
He was rushed to Lake Granbury Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators have taken Delbridge into custody. She will likely face charges of injury to a child. The Hood County Sheriff's Department tells CBS11 the babysitter was likely on drugs at the time.
