According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched at about 10:30 p.m. Friday and found a pedestrian in the right lane of the roadway.

The victim, who had pulled over on the curving exit ramp, was standing outside his white Ford F-150 when he was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

Investigators found automobile parts that led them to identify the suspect vehicle as a charcoal gray 2009-2013 Toyota Corolla. The vehicle is expected to have front right damage and is missing the right passenger mirror, authorities said.

The sheriff's office provided an image of a similar make and model of the suspect vehicle, with red circles indicating where the damage would have occurred.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Dallas Sheriff's Office Vehicle Crimes Unit at VCU@dallascounty.org or reach out to Detective A. Powers at (214) 589-2327.
