It was very early in Avery Zweig's life that her parents noticed that she wanted to be like dad and swing a golf club.  So, when she was two, they bought her a little putter and showed her how to hold it.

"Left hand, right hand and hit some putts and she'd throw the putter down and run around the house" said Avery's dad and caddy Ivan Zweig.

It  didn't take long before she found out she loved golf and took some lessons.

"When I was six I started to get the sense that I liked this and I went to proceed playing" said nine year old golf champion Avery Zweig.

Avery competed and won in the "Drive, Chip and Putt" completion at The Masters this month in Augusta, Georgia.  She has won over 110 tournaments, but the thing she is most proud of is raising money to help others.

Avery takes donations for tournament wins and the money this year will be going to two year old Cason Crow of Monroe, Louisiana.  Cason is fighting neuroblastoma cancer.

"If you'd like to donate, you can go to www.wingreenforcason.com and Cason is so cute" Avery added.

Even with all her success, Avery keeps it all in perspective.

"I think I'm just normal third grader that has a skill that I can obviously  pursuit in the future, and I'm pretty good at it" said Avery.

JD Ryan is at PTC at Craig Ranch in McKinney and Around Town.
