911 Outages Reported Throughout North Texas; Part Of Nationwide CenturyLink Outage

According to officials, the outages are caused by a nationwide issue with CenturyLink.

The outages earlier affected 13 North Texas counties, and some of those same counties are reporting 911 issues as of around 9 a.m. Officials with the North Central Texas Emergency Communications District had said at around 6:20 a.m. that the outages were resolved.

Until the issue is fully resolved, officials are asking residents in 13 North Texas counties to call their police department's non-emergency phone numbers or use text-to-911.

Here are the counties, which were also the ones affected from the earlier outage:

  • Collin County
  • Erath County
  • Ellis County
  • Hood County

  • Johnson County
  • Kaufman County
  • Navarro County
  • Palo Pinto County
  • Parker County
  • Rockwall County
  • Somervell County
  • Wise County
  • Cities of Balch Springs, Cockrell Hill, Sachse, Seagoville and Wilmer

There has been no official word on what caused the outage.
