KAUFMAN (CBSDFW.COM) - A 9-month-old boy is recovering after being left in a car by his grandmother who was babysitting Friday morning, according to Kaufman Police.

Police say she drove to the 900 block of Melody Circle and walked into the house forgetting the child.

Police say the baby was in the car for an hour and it was 96 degrees outside when the child was rescued around 9:30 a.m.

The family got him out of the car when they realized that's where he was.

Police say the child, who was taken to the hospital, is doing well.  He drank some water and was attentive once he was removed from the car, according to Kaufman Police Captain Ed Black.

The police investigation continues.  No one has been charged with a crime.
