21 Best Rangers Ever: Ron Washington

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - We know Ron Washington never wore a Rangers uniform as a player, but 'that's the way Baseball go.'

The 17th skipper in Rangers history, the New Orleans native lead the 2010 Rangers to the franchise's first playoff series win, as well as their first World Series.

As a player, he spent most of his career with the Minnesota Twins, and ended his career with the Rangers then-AAA affiliate Oklahoma City in 1990.  He then went on to a long career as a coach for the Oakland A's before becoming the Rangers manager on November 6, 2006.

In his 4+ seasons with the Rangers Ron Washington has already made his way to third place all-time on the Rangers manager list behind Bobby Valentine and Johnny Oates, and if baseball keeps going his way, we'll be seeing Wash in the dugout for years to come.
