2 Dead After Motorcycle Crashes Into Police Car
VENUS (CBSDFW.COM) - Two people on a motorcycle died early Friday morning after they crashed into a police car in Johnson County. The incident happened shortly after 1:00 a.m. in the town of Venus.
A patrol officer from the Venus Police Department was traveling northbound on FM 157 with the car's lights turned on, heading to a nearby grass fire. There were other vehicles traveling southbound along the roadway. One of those vehicles slowed down to yield to the police car. But there was a motorcycle carrying two people behind that slowed vehicle.
The motorcycle slammed into the back of the yielding vehicle and then deflected into the Venus Police Department squad car. The two motorcycle passengers were pronounced dead.
There were no other injuries -- to people inside of the yielding vehicle or the patrol officer -- reported in this incident. The names of those involved in this crash have not been released.
