"The bottom line is very likely at least part of the plan will be implemented, but ultimately the entire plan will be," Fauci said.

In a 5-4 decision late Wednesday, the Supreme Court allowed Texas' ban on abortions after six weeks of pregnancy to remain in effect.

The Texas law taking effect Wednesday prohibits virtually all abortions in the state.
