Dagmar Midcap

Dagmar Midcap is a meteorologist and environmental storyteller at CBS News Atlanta who believes weather is only the beginning of the story.

From the studio to some of the most remote corners of the world, Dagmar has built a career around connecting people to the planet. She is the creator of "Down to Earth with Dagmar," a global conservation series that takes viewers inside endangered ecosystems and introduces them to the scientists, wildlife protectors and communities working to safeguard our natural world.

Her reporting has carried her through many weather extremes. From the eye of a hurricane to humid Indonesian rain forests and the arid plains of the Middle East, she often works alongside international conservation teams in the field documenting earth's endangered species: African painted dogs, pangolins, elephants, Sumatran tigers and critically endangered Persian leopards among them.

Through these stories, Dagmar blends science, adventure and heart, with a focus on how climate and environmental changes directly affect the future we all share. Dagmar is a member of The Explorers Club and regularly collaborates with wildlife organizations and research groups around the world.

Whether forecasting storms in Atlanta or filming in the wild, her mission remains the same: to awaken and inspire people to protect what matters most.

When she's not on the air or in the field, Dagmar thrives in the outdoors and recharges by spending time with her ever-evolving colony of rescues.
