El Paso resident speaks on mass shooting

President Trump will head to El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday, where 22 people were killed this weekend in a mass shooting at a Walmart. At least seven of those killed were Mexican citizens. Police say the alleged gunman posted a racist manifesto online before the shooting, in which he denounced the growing Hispanic population in Texas. CBS News spoke with one immigrant who said she feels the president's language, which is echoed in the manifesto, enables violence like this.

Maria Elena Salinas on El Paso shooting

Hispanic Americans say they are fearful and anxious in the wake of the mass shooting in El Paso. A gunman opened fire inside a Walmart and killed 22 people on Saturday. A racist manifesto posted online before the shooting claimed, “This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.” Since the shooting, President Trump has come under scrutiny for his use of the word “invasion” to describe migrants. His critics have linked his language to the manifesto. Our newest contributor, Maria Elena Salinas, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss why the attack hit the Hispanic community so hard.
