How authorities are tackling domestic threats

There's been a wave of arrests of people who, police say, threatened to carry out mass shootings after this month's massacres in Dayton and El Paso. The suspects include a truck driver in Indianapolis who allegedly threatened to shoot and stab people at a Tennessee church and a 15-year-old in Florida accused of posting a mass shooting threat on a video game platform. CBS News national security analyst Fran Townsend was a homeland security and counterterrorism adviser for President George W. Bush. She joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss how law enforcement are tackling the "epidemic" of domestic terrorism threats.

Ex-cheerleader sentenced in newborn's death

A former Ohio high school cheerleader accused of killing her newborn daughter two days after attending her senior prom was sentenced Friday. Brooke Skylar Richardson was acquitted of the most serious charges, including murder, but was convicted of abuse of a corpse. The judge told Richardson the young woman had a "grotesque disregard for life" after the infant's body was found buried in Richardson’s backyard. She was 18 at the time.
