The historic rainfall that devastated Texas is now making its way into the lower Mississippi Valley and northern Louisiana. The storm dropped more than a foot of rain in a matter of hours, forcing hundreds of water rescues. CBS News correspondent Omar Villafranca joins Matt Pieper from Seagoville, Texas, with more.
Communities in Texas are cleaning up the mess left after a record-breaking storm pounded parts of the state, causing flash floods and hundreds of water rescues. Omar Villafranca reports.
More than 18,200 houses have been "completely destroyed" across the country while at least 25,600 were partly damaged.
Relentless rain has hit North Texas, causing flash flooding and dangerous conditions for many vehicles.
As flash floods leave more than 30 people dead or missing in Qinghai province, heat and drought force car plants to close in Shanghai.
Two weeks after it was first hit with major flash flooding, Las Vegas was slammed again on Thursday, leaving many vehicles having to travel through water.
Death Valley is recovering from last week's devastating floods, where roads throughout the park remained closed after it got three-quarters of its usual annual rainfall in one day. Josh Sirlin, a weather photographer who was at the National Park during the flash flooding and mudslides, joined CBS News to discuss.
The flooding buried about 60 vehicles in debris and left about 1,000 people stranded.
