Vacaville Murder Suspect Arrested, Victime ID'd

VACAVILLE (CBS SF) -- The victim of a homicide in Vacaville on Thursday night has been identified as 33-year-old Victoria Corral, police said Friday afternoon.

Corral and her alleged killer, Sidney Wilson, 33, were in a long-term relationship and had two children together, police Sgt. Jeff King said.

Wilson was arrested Thursday night after officers responding to a report of shots fired found Corral's body lying on the floor of a home's garage, police said.

The shooting was reported about 10:40 p.m. at the home in the 200 block of Cambridge Drive.

Officers responding to the report surrounded the home and attempted to contact a man inside the residence.

While officers attempted to establish communication with the man, a 911 dispatcher communicating with a 17-year-old girl inside the home was able to direct her and three other children to the home's rear, where a patrol officer evacuated them to a safe location, police said.

Officers were eventually able to successfully contact Wilson, the man inside the home, and take him into custody.

Corral was found on the floor of the home's attached garage, where paramedics pronounced her dead.

Wilson was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of homicide, police said.

The children who had been inside the home were taken into protective custody at the scene and were later released to family members, police said.
