Teen In Fake San Jose Arrest Says He Was 'Terrified'

SAN JOSE (AP) - The 15-year-old boy who was handcuffed by a San Jose police officer for having sex with the officer's 14-year-old stepdaughter says he was terrified that he was going to jail.

The boy told the San Jose Mercury News in his first interview since the Aug. 30 confrontation that the officer took advantage of his position and should be held accountable.

The newspaper on Friday released video footage of the incident that was taken by the boy's stepfather. The officer is shown in uniform standing near the handcuffed boy at the boy's home and telling him he was wrong to "mess around" with a cop's daughter.

Santa Clara County prosecutors are reviewing the case.

The officer's lawyer said the video only shows a concerned parent.

Neither the boy nor the officer are being named to protect the identities of the minors.
