Teen Arrested In Fatal San Jose Shooting

SAN JOSE (KCBS) -- An 18-year-old San Jose man is dead in an apparent gang shooting, and one teen is in custody.

The shooting occurred in the 2600 block of Story Road just before 5 pm on Friday as the man rode by on his bicycle.

KCBS' Margie Shafer Reports:

"He was identified as Hugo Gutierrez, 18 years of age of San Jose," said Officer Jose Garcia, who said Gutierrez was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officer Jose Garcia said police officers think the shooting is gang related.

Garcia said the officers on duty detained a suspect, a 17-year-old San Jose resident. His name is not being released because of his age.

This is San Jose's seventh homicide of the year.
