Richardson Bay is considered one of the most pristine estuaries on the Pacific Coast. The Audubon Center and Sanctuary is a feeding and resting area for a large diversity of estuarine and pelagic birds, including over 40,000 diving ducks and other water birds. Be sure to bring your binoculars.

Tiburon was once a major railroad and ferry terminus, maintenance yard and industrial town. The trains are no longer running, but you can learn about the area's rich railroad and maritime history at the Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum. The Museum rests on Shoreline Park with priceless views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Angel Island.

St. Hillary Church was built in 1888 as a place of worship for local railroad workers. The building is one of the few remaining Carpenter Gothic churches to survive in its original setting. The adjacent John Thomas Howell Wildflower Preserve is one of the most beautiful wildflower gardens in California.
