SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) – A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck the East Bay Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake struck the Hayward Fault in San Leandro around 2:19 p.m., at a depth of 2.5 miles.

Visitors to the USGS website from as far as San Ramon, Hayward and San Francisco said they felt the shaking.

KPIX 5 reporter Christin Ayers was among those who felt the quake.

Others throughout the East Bay also reported the shaking.
