2-Alarm Fire Burns San Jose Garage
SAN JOSE (BCN) -- Firefighters are investigating what sparked a two-alarm fire early Friday morning in San Jose that caused extensive damage to a residential garage, a fire spokesman said.
When crews arrived at the two-story home on Purple Cliff Court at about 3:45 a.m. they found a fully involved fire burning in the home's garage, Capt. Chuck Rangel said. A second alarm was added at 3:47 a.m.
Crews knocked down the fire by 4:17 a.m., Rangel said, and the fire was contained to the garage, where it caused heavy damage. Parts of the home's first floor also sustained some smoke damage, he said.
No one appeared to be home at the time of the fire, Rangel said, but firefighters were conducting a secondary search to ensure that no one was trapped inside.
Investigators are still trying to determine what sparked the fire
that they say began in the garage. Arson has yet to be ruled out.
