San Jose man arrested for alleged sex trafficking of a minor
A San Jose man was arrested last week for allegedly trafficking a minor for sex, police said Tuesday.
San Jose police said in a press release that detectives from the department's sexual assault investigations unit identified a potential human trafficking case after a patrol call for service on January 31 and referred the case to the department's trafficking task force.
Following an investigation, police said detectives determined that 23-year-old San Jose resident Dante Price was trafficking a 16-year-old survivor for commercial sex.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Price's arrest based on the evidence gathered and on Friday, the detectives and other plainclothes officers arrested Price in San Jose for human trafficking of a minor, police said.
The juvenile survivor was rescued and provided resources.
The investigation was still active and it's believed that more victims exist. Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact Detective Reyes #4530 of the San José Police Department's Human Trafficking Task Force at 4530@sanjoseca.gov or (408) 537-1224.
