San Jose Home Damaged In 2-Alarm Fire
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - A two-alarm fire at a two-story San Jose home was controlled Thursday morning after crews fought the fire for about two hours, a San Jose fire captain said.
Firefighters were called at 3:38 a.m. about an attic fire at a two-story home on Greenleaf Lane at Yerba Buena Avenue. Crews arrived at 3:44 a.m., San Jose fire Capt. Rob Brown said.
The fire was under control at 5:39 a.m., Brown said.
Firefighters worked to contain the fire to the attic area after arriving firefighters had found smoke coming from the top of the house and discovered a fully involved attic fire, Brown said.
The fire managed to spread slightly to the first floor, Brown said.
The residents were not home and nearby homes and structures were not affected by the blaze, Brown said. No injuries were reported.
Fire officials estimate the fire caused about $250,000 of damage to the home, primarily to the attic, Brown said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
