San Francisco Police Searching For Attempted Murder Suspect
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- The hunt is on for a man who police suspect attempted to murder his girlfriend in a South San Francisco hotel Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The man and a 24-year-old East Bay woman became involved in an argument at a hotel in the 300 block of Airport Boulevard at about 3:10 p.m., according to police.
When the fight became physical, the man allegedly beat the woman using his fists and a telephone receiver before he began choking her with his bare hands, police said.
The woman broke free from her boyfriend's grasp, and the man fled the hotel, police said, but not before stealing the victim's cell phone and an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect eluded officers as he fled the area on a SamTrans bus traveling southbound on Airport Boulevard. Efforts by South San Francisco police officers and detectives failed to locate the suspect.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition Wednesday night.
