High-speed crash in San Francisco's Marina District leaves 2 injured
At least two people were injured following a high-speed crash involving multiple vehicles in San Francisco's Marina District Tuesday morning.
Around 7:30 a.m., firefighters said they were responding to a collision located at Broderick and Lombard streets. The incident involved three vehicles.
Photos and videos shared by the fire department showed damage to at least three vehicles. One of the vehicles, a full-size pickup truck, had slammed into the side of the La Luna Inn.
In an update Tuesday afternoon, police said the incident initially began with a collision between two occupied vehicles at Richardson and Francisco streets shortly after 6:20 a.m. One of the involved drivers continued to travel several blocks when they struck two parked vehicles and the building.
The driver, only identified as an adult male and a person inside the building were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police said that the investigation has determined that a medical emergency may have taken place during the collisions.
The other driver involved in the crash at Richardson and Francisco remained at the scene and was not injured.
Firefighters said the city's Department of Building Inspection was on scene to inspect the damage to the building.
