Police ID Teen Killed In East Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) --  An Oakland teen was fatally shot Friday night in the eastern part of the city, police said Saturday.

Officers responding to reports of a shooting found the victim, 18-year-old Christian Daniel Garcia, at about 11:40 p.m. suffering from a gunshot wound near Bancroft and Seminary avenues, police said.

He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead at about 12:15 a.m.

Homicide investigators later determined the shooting took place at 64th and Avenal avenues.

No arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon, and a motive had not been determined, police said.
