New Developments for SJ Ballpark Ballot Measure
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KCBS) _ San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed spent much of Tuesday in meetings with Major League Baseball officials over the possibility of moving the A's to San Jose.
Reed spent much of the day meeting with MLB President Bob DuPuy over the proposed Downtown Ballpark initiative for the November 2010 ballot.
In a statement released by his office, Reed said "MLB president Bob DuPuy informed me today that Commissioner Selig has requested that the San Jose City Council refrain from placing a Downtown Ballpark Measure on the November 2010 so that MLB's special committee can complete its work."

Reed also said that if a special election is required in the spring, Major League Baseball would help pay for it.
On Wednesday, the City of San Jose's Rules Committee will decide whether to place the measure on the agenda for the City Council's August 3rd meeting.
