Music Fans Heading To SF For Outside Lands Concert Weekend
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Thousands of concertgoers are expected to flock to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park this weekend for the fifth annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, a three-day long event boasting some of the biggest names in the entertainment world.
Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young and Foo Fighters are among the headliners for the festival, which sold out earlier this week.

In addition to the some 80 musical acts spread out over the long weekend, the festival will also feature comedians such as Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Hardwick and David Cross, a DJ dome, and a wide variety of local wineries and restaurants.
A portion of the proceeds from Outside Lands ticket sales will benefit the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department; the festival raised more than $4.3 million for the city entity during the previous four years, according to figures released by promoter Another Planet Entertainment.
In addition to donating money to benefit Golden Gate Park, the festival will also host several environmental and charitable organizations, such as SF Surfrider, Friends of The Urban Forest and Oxfam, and one of the concert stages will be powered entirely by solar energy.
Residents of the Sunset and Richmond neighborhoods are being advised that there will be several road closures in Golden Gate Park, and organizers are strongly encouraging festival-goers to take public transit to Outside Lands. For more information, visit www.sfoutsidelands.com.
