Chilly May Weather Gives San Francisco Small Blast Of A Winter That Wasn't

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) -- Have you noticed a chill in the air this month?

In San Francisco, the average afternoon temperature so far this May has been colder than it was in January.

In fact, May has been the coldest month of the year, with an average high temperature of just 61.5 degrees.

January (avg. high: 61.9), February (65.8), March (67.5), and April (63.7) have all been warmer.

The long-range pattern suggests cooler-than-normal temperatures will persist well into the month.

Saturday skies will be mostly cloudy around the bay, with highs in the mid-50s to the lower 60s and Sunday's forecast looks like a repeat.
