Man Shot In Leg Following Fight At Fremont Park
FREMONT (CBS SF) -- A man was shot in the leg at a park in Fremont on Thursday evening, police said.
Officers responded at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday to a report of a shooting at Los Cerritos Community Park in the 3300 block of Alder Avenue.
Witnesses attending a baseball game in the park said they hard several shots fired and a group of men fighting, police said.
When the fight broke up, a male got into his vehicle and fired multiple shots, according to police.
About a half-hour later, police received a call from a hospital where a 20-year-old man had arrived with a gunshot wound to his leg. The injury was not considered life-threatening and the victim was released a short time later, police said.
No suspect information was immediately available from police, who said they are investigating whether the incident was gang-related.
