Man Shot By Teens In San Francisco Expected To Survive
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - A man who was shot by teens in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood on Thursday morning is expected to survive, police said Friday.
The shooting was reported at 8:02 a.m. near the intersection of Palou Avenue and Newhall Street, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
The suspects, described as boys between 13 and 15 years old, got off a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus and began firing at the victim, Esparza said.
The 19-year-old victim was struck multiple times in the torso by the gunfire and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening, Esparza said.
The suspects were last seen running toward Third Street and have not been arrested as of Friday morning, Esparza said.
Police contacted Muni after the shooting to get surveillance video from the bus, which investigators hope will provide more information about the shooting, Esparza said.
