Man Found Dead Inside Vacaville House Fire

VACAVILLE (BCN) - The Solano County coroner's office has identified a man who was found dead in his burned Vacaville home early Friday morning as 77-year-old Jack Gildar.

The cause of death is pending a blood analysis, but Gildar suffered smoke inhalation and had heart disease, coroner's deputy Raymond Lamb said.
Gildar was found in the master bedroom of the home in the 200 block of Clayton Circle.

Vacaville Fire Department Battalion Chief John Jansen said the fire was accidental and caused by something electrical.

A Vacaville police officer smelled smoke and reported the fire at 1:20 a.m. The fire went to a second alarm at 1:40 a.m. and was controlled in about 20 minutes, Jansen said.

The fire started in a hallway at the back of the single-family house, Jansen said. Gildar was the only one living in the home.
