Man Fatally Shot Near SF Bayview-Hunters Point

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- A man was fatally shot in the head Tuesday night near San Francisco's Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood, a police spokesman said.

Police responded at about 7:45 p.m. to reports of a gunshot victim in the 200 block of Cashmere Street, Officer Albie Esparza said.

Officers found the victim, described only as a black man in his 20s, outside. He was suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and pronounced dead at the scene, Esparza said.

As of 9 p.m. Tuesday no arrests had been made, and a suspect description was not available.

It was not clear if the killing was gang related.
