Longest Home Run Of 2013 Officially Belongs To Hunter Pence
DENVER, Colo. (CBS Sports) -- The longest home run of the Major League Baseball season doesn't belong to Miguel Cabrera, Chris Davis, Mike Napoli, Jay Bruce, Justin Upton, Mark Trumbo, Prince Fielder or any other number of notable monster mashers. Nope, the longest home run of 2013 was brought to us by the lanky Hunter Pence of the San Francisco Giants.
The shot did come in the thin air of Coors Field, but it happened nonetheless. Tuesday night's shot was 476 feet and Pence's 16th home run of the year. The previous long for the season was 475 feet, by both Trumbo and Anthony Rizzo.
