SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- Three students from California have been selected as Rhodes Scholars for 2013.
Larkspur native Catherine Laporte-Oshiro, Daniel Price of Grass Valley and Bakersfield's Evan Szablowski are among 32 American students who will be awarded scholarships to study at Oxford University.
A senior at Yale University, Laporte-Oshiro is majoring in ethics, politics and economics. She will pursue an advanced degree in modern Chinese studies at Oxford.
Price will graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, with two degrees, one in bioengineering, and one in electrical engineering and computer sciences. At Oxford he will continue his bioengineering studies.
Szablowski majors in mathematics at the United States Military Academy. He hopes to get a master's degree in mathematical modeling and scientific computing.
The scholarships provide all expenses for study at the prestigious university in England.
