Jazz Up Your Life At The Best Jazz Spots In San Francisco

They say more than two dozen styles of jazz exist in the world today. From ragtime and swing to classic and bebop, the evolution of jazz continues. Here are the best jazz spots you'll find in San Francisco to discover this musical diversity.

In the heart of the Haight flanked by tourists, skaters and hipsters, you'll find this charming spot with the art deco front. Once inside this small establishment, you are swept up by the pleasing sound of jazz performed most nights and weekend afternoons. The club uses only fresh ingredients for its famous cocktails and artisan pizzas. Be sure to check out Club Deluxe for some smooth jazz and delicious pizza.

Tucked away in Union Square is this Parisian-inspired restaurant and lounge complete with authentic zinc bar and traditional Parisian cafe menu. The bar boasts more than 62 bottles of French and Californian wines. The live jazz sets the mood for a fabulous dinner with a friend or loved one.

There is something surreal about this music venue. Built in 1907 by San Francisco architect August Nordin, the hall commemorates the meeting place of the Original Orpheus Singing Club of 1873, which underwent several name changes until settling on the Swedish Society. Accoustic performances make optimum use of the high cathedral ceilings.

Located in San Francisco's historic jazz preservation district, Rasselas is for the discerning palate. Spicy Ethiopian cuisine and a variety of live music offered every night of the week is why the public heaps praise on this Fillmore institution.

This Mission joint is jumpin six nights a week with local and national jazz artists thanks to owner Pascal Bokar. His appreciation of jazz is personal, this musician graduated from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music.
