Head Of Dallas Transit Agency Pays Off Bet With BART
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - BART riders at the Embarcadero Station's Drumm Street entrance received a "giant" surprise Monday morning.
It was at that location where the President of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Gary Thomas, was serenading commuters decked out in full Giants regalia, passing out orange fortune cookies with personalized messages inside, congratulating BART and the Giants.
It was all in good fun as Thomas stayed true to his word by paying off his World Series bet when the Giants beat the Rangers.
KCBS' Holly Quan Reports:
"I've been in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for most of my life," said Thomas. "I've followed them pretty much the entire time they've been there. I'm just pretending I'm wearing a different hat and different shirt."
It was also seen as a thank you to commuters for using public transit. Thomas' stay wasn't a long one as he left by noon and left that Giants jersey behind as well.
