(CBS 5) – Let's go back to the very beginning, to the day that you were born. In this Good Question: Why do some people have "innies" for belly buttons, while others have "outies?"
ANSWER: According to Dr. Chris Retajczyk of California Pacific Medical Center, said contrary to popular belief, the shape of your belly button has absolutely nothing to do with the way the umbilical cord was cut. It is directly associated with amount and thickness of the skin in the abdomen of a baby.
