SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) – Snow is a common winter sight in the Sierra, but closer to home it's rare. Ericka Crawford of Hayward asked this Good Question: What was the biggest snowfall recorded in San Francisco?
ANSWER: According to meteorologist Jan Null, the biggest snowfall ever recorded in San Francisco was on February 15th, 1887 when it snowed 4 inches downtown and almost 8 inches on Twin Peaks.
