(CBS 5) -– You probably have a few of these stashed in a drawer somewhere. Jim Schock of Mill Valley asked this Good Question: What happened to 50 cent coins?
ANSWER: According to San Francisco coin dealer Dean Witter, John F. Kennedy half dollars started disappearing more than 20 years ago. He believes that people may be hoarding them, and the Federal Reserve continues to take them out of circulation.
